What you want built
A project name, one-line summary, and detailed prompt describing the audience, main action, information, and useful result.
What to leave out
Do not submit credentials, private records, payment cards, government IDs, medical records, biometrics, or requests to bypass access controls.

Review the plan or build automatically.
See the plan first
Stay at the kiosk, approve the proposed plan, or use the one or two feedback rounds configured for the event before building.
Let the builder decide
Skip optional plan feedback. Required planning and safety checks still run, and an organizer may pause the idea if it needs review.
Track it, then open it
We send tracking, action-needed, ready-app, and one optional post-build feedback round messages to the address you enter. Future Build Lab announcements are separate and sent only if you check the optional opt-in box.
SHARING CHOICES
You control who can see the finished app.
Private
The app stays off the Apps page and opens only from the confirmation link sent to your email. It remains eligible for the judged prizes.
Event sharing
The app appears on the event Apps page through 11:59 PM Pacific on August 13 and can enter Community Choice. Showing your participant name is optional; team names are shown.
Wider sharing
The app can be shared publicly and enters Community Choice. Public sharing includes participant attribution, and team names are shown.
IP + CONFIDENTIALITY
No confidential submissions or exclusive rights.
Protect sensitive ideas
Do not submit confidential, proprietary, patent-sensitive, or third-party material you are not authorized to use. Ideas and prompts submitted here are not treated as confidential.
Not commissioned work
The generated app is not commissioned work or work made for hire. Submitting does not give you exclusive ownership or control of its generated code or app.
Similar ideas may be built
MongoDB may use and modify submissions and generated apps to operate and demonstrate the Build Lab, subject to the chosen visibility. MongoDB or others may build, use, or demonstrate similar ideas.
COMMUNITY CHOICE
Three confirmed votes per email address.

Each email address can vote for up to three different apps during the event.

A vote counts only after you open its confirmation link.
Used only for voting
We use the address only to confirm the vote and enforce the limit. After confirmation or expiry, the pending vote keeps only a private one-way code, never a public email address.
SCORING + PRIZES
90 points for the idea, 10 for the build.
There are three app prizes: top team, top individual, and top Community Choice. From the Top 10 on the AI-rated leaderboard, human judges select the top team and top individual. The eligible, most-upvoted Community Choice app wins the community prize.

How thoughtfully the idea uses MongoDB Atlas and the available product capabilities.
Impact + utility
How useful the product is for its intended audience.
Creativity + originality
How distinctive and compelling the idea is.
Verified implementation
Whether the deployed app delivers the promised experience. Every participant also receives a claw machine token.

Build until intake closes; submit by 5:00 PM for prizes.
Winning-leaderboard eligibility closes
Submissions may continue after 5:00 PM for fun, but they are not eligible for prizes.
