ONE PROMPT.
ONE LIVE APP.
Describe an idea once. The Build Lab turns it into a deployed web app with a MongoDB Atlas database backend and a built-in LLM chosen for the job.
Build a functioning app from just a prompt.
Enter your prompt at a Build Lab kiosk, collect your claw-machine token, and play for a prize. The best apps can win more prizes. Scan the Apps QR code to explore what attendees built and vote for your favorite. A MongoDB employee can help at the station.
SEE HOW THE KIOSK WORKS →Choose only what the idea needs.
Use one ingredient or combine a few. Describe what people should be able to do, and the builder will choose the MongoDB Atlas features and LLM.
From prompt to live app.
Describe one useful outcome
Tell us who the app is for and what it should help them do.
Review or submit
Stay for an optional plan review, or let the builder make the product and technical decisions automatically.
We build and test it
The builder creates the interface, MongoDB Atlas backend, LLM features, tests, and production deployment.
Track it, then open it
After submitting, you get an email with a private tracking link and another when the app is ready. The ready email offers one optional post-build feedback round.
Ask a question about your build.
15 documents by default. 100 maximum.
15 starter documents
When starter data fits the idea, the builder researches and writes 15 useful documents to MongoDB Atlas by default.
Up to 100 documents
An initial build can contain no more than 100 documents. Apps designed around user-created content may begin empty.
No open-internet search
The live app cannot search the open internet for new data. New documents can come from user input or a user-triggered LLM action.
Build, play, and vote.
Claw machine token
Use the token you receive after submitting your project to play while your app builds.
Top team + top individual
Projects are ranked on MongoDB and technical ambition, impact and utility, creativity and originality, and the verified implementation.
Three confirmed votes
Each email address gets three votes total. Every vote must be confirmed from the email we send. Voting emails are not used for tracking and are removed from pending votes after confirmation or expiry; only private one-way codes enforce the limit.
Everything at the kiosk is here too.
Use this guide to review the intake fields, build choices, sharing options, scoring, and safety boundaries before or after your turn. See the kiosk guide →
